In a bid to showcase its electrification potential, Audi has announced a series of premium electric vehicles that it says will “transform our entire automotive industry.”
The new series, called E-Races, are expected to debut in 2019, with an all-electric lineup set to hit the market in 2020.
Audi’s new line of electric vehicles are said to be the first to include all-wheel drive, and feature the new E-Tron E5 electric sports coupe, the E-Wagen E5 sport utility vehicle, the Audi R8 E-tron electric crossover and the Audi TT e-tronic crossover.
“We believe that we can bring the best of Audi’s award-winning technologies to electric mobility,” Audi CEO Rupert Stadler said in a statement.
“We have designed the E5 for an innovative, fun and engaging driving experience.”
The E-Cars are said forgo the traditional front and rear seats and will be built for a combined range of over 300 miles.
The company says the new electric cars will be able to go on a range of longer trips, from 10 miles to more than 30 miles.
Audi says the E7, the first E-class model, will also be available in 2019.
